The principality hosts one of the oldest international fireworks competitions with Monaco Art en Ciel, first launched in 1966. Its special feature? It is a pyro-melodic show combining rhythms and music during fireworks launches. Powerful sound systems are installed throughout Port Hercule to fully captivate the audience. Fireworks experts submit applications, then selection is made by the City Council. Four show nights lasting 20 minutes each are organized : two in July at 10 p.m., and two in August at 9:30 p.m.

The event is unique : three pyrotechnic evenings light up Juan-les-Pins bay while a final performance takes place on Brague beaches along the seaside road, closing the summer season beautifully.

Port-Fréjus Nights : Pyrotechnic enchantment
A highlight of the summer season, the “Les Nuits de Port-Fréjus” pyrotechnic art festival lights up the Var skies during seven exceptional evenings. Mainly held on Friday nights from the port docks, this night show uses water to create a splendid mirror effect once night falls. At exactly 10:30 p.m., the opening signal starts a festival of lights, colors, and captivating explosions — perfect for extending a stroll along the waterfront.
In 2026, these celestial shows can be admired on July 14, 20, and 27 as well as August 3, 10, 17, and 24 at 10:30 p.m.
